Residential Care
Our residential unit (formerly Croft Village) is purpose built within the grounds of the Nursing home. The unit benefits from landscaped gardens, offering a wide variety of services. There is an onsite post box, public telephone box and a club house for meeting together for social activities. In addition to this there are shops, a post office, and hotels within 100 yards of the unit.
Our residential unit offers a community environment for 23 residents with learning disabilities, aged 18 years upwards. The unit comprises of 3 bungalows, 1 Semi-detached property and a club house. The landscaped gardens provide quiet areas with benches and tables and larger areas for activities such as barbeques.
Each property provides an en-suite bedroom for each resident, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and disabled toilet. All lounges have colour T.V’s and music centres in comfortable surroundings.
As well as en-suite bathrooms with either showers or baths, one of the properties offers the facility of a Parker Hydraulic bath to enable bathing of residents with physical disabilities. All properties have a full aid call bell system.
Facilities
The Clubhouse offers a meeting place for residents to enjoy games, make use of the disco equipment, enjoy watching T.V & DVD’s and share a drink with friends.
Within the residents support plans are included the choice of activities such as, supported access to the community library, trips to the swimming baths, badminton, makaton, and developing skills such as using public transport to name a few.
The residential unit has its own mini bus to transport residents to local amenities and also on longer trips around the lakes.
In the summer months the resident’s are actively encouraged to participate in barbeques held in the gardens. There are also regular evenings out to the theatre and to pubs for bar meals. The Residents are encouraged to suggest ideas for their outings and trips out at the monthly village residents meeting.
Care Plans
We provide each resident with a confidential day-to-day care plan and also a life plan, which details the residents’ individual on-going needs. Residents and their families are encouraged, where possible, to participate in the formation and review of these plans to ensure the residents achieve their full potential.
